Three outstanding works of independent cinema – Michael Keaton’s directorial debut The Merry Gentleman, the female filmmaking tour-de-force Hannah Free and Lori Petty’s heartwrenching drama The Poker House – lead all nominees for The 2009 Best of the Midwest Awards, hosted by The Midwest Independent Film Festival.
