Meet the Panelist - Mike Schmiedeler

Mike Schmiedeler, The Michael Group, has built his career combining creative vision and managerial expertise, delivering over 300 hours of non-fiction TV on time and on budget. As Executive Producer, Mike successfully launched the series Find Our Missing and Parole Diaries (TV One), Underground Barbecue Challenge (Travel Channel) and Last House Standing (DIY) as well as additional seasons of Mobsters (bio).

Mike successfully oversaw eight seasons of Gangland for History; American Justice and Biography for A&E; Perilous Journeys, The Final Report, and Inside 9/11 for National Geographic Channel; Cook County Jail, Behind Bars, Drug Nation, After Saddam, and The Trial of Saddam Hussein for Discovery; Undercover for ID: Investigation Discovery; Animal Witness and Gang Dogs for Animal Planet; High School Confidential for WEtv; Storm Stories and When Weather Changed History for The Weather Channel; Classic Yo Yo Ma, Saved From The Wrecking Ball, and 22nd Century for PBS; Narco State for CNN; and Runaways for MSNBC.

Schmiedeler served as co-creator and showrunner of Sports Action Team, the semi-scripted sports comedy series syndicated by MGM Worldwide Television which ran on 17 NBC affiliates and the cable Network HD Net for two seasons.

After receiving his bachelor's degree from the University of Notre Dame in 1994, Mike was a Visiting Scholar at the Medill School of Journalism at Northwestern University in 2001.
