The CUFF Hospitality Manager (HM) is responsible for overseeing filmmaker and guest hospitality logistics during the 24th annual festival and is the primary contact for visiting filmmakers and VIP guests. This position demands a highly organized, energetic and friendly individual with pristine communication and customer service skills. Our ideal candidate has extensive knowledge of Chicago, Logan Square, the festival and our film selections.
Evening and weekend hours required. The HM is seasonal position, part-time for the month prior to the festival but full-time during the festival week. The position runs May 1, 2017 - June 15, 2017. The HC reports to Artistic Director and Assistant Director and Executive Director.
The HC will prepare a festival wrap report and will coordinate a post-festival exit interview with CUFF’s Artistic Director and IFP Chicago’s Assistant Director.
Duties include, but are not limited to:
Ensure that each visiting artist and filmmaker is aware of all festival details, disseminating important festival information to visiting artists prior to and during the festival.
Work with Volunteer Manager to schedule, train and manage hospitality volunteers.
Set up and manage hospitality table at Logan Theater, the central hub of filmmaker/guest check-in and information.
Manage and disseminate allocated comp tickets for Filmmakers and other guests/VIPS.
Work closely with the Assistant Director and/or Travel Coordinator to be familiar with the travel schedules and accommodations of all attending filmmakers and special guests.
Recommend screenings, parties, restaurants and answer other questions for filmmakers/guests.
Attend festival parties and other events to ensure filmmakers and guests mix, mingle and feel welcome.
Basic understanding of spreadsheets (excel, google docs)
Strong communication and personal skills
Attention to detail, organizational and problem solving skills
