Fiscal Sponsorship: Your Questions Answered

Receiving funding is one of the most challenging parts of independent filmmaking. Many foundations, corporations and governmental grant making organizations restrict funding of independent projects to tax-exempt organizations (aka not-for-profits or 501(c)(3) organizations).

IFP Chicago's Executive Director Nicole Bernardi-Reis will speak on fiscal sponsorship and answer your questions.
Nicole Bernardi-Reis brings a real world perspective to the Executive Director position and a deep understanding of the ever-changing challenges facing independent filmmakers and media makers living in the Midwest. A producer and director, her work spans narrative shorts and feature film, documentary features and television series. Her most recent producing project, Radical Grace, is currently screening around the world and was called “Exhilarating…among the year’s best films” by RogerEbert.com. She’s taken numerous films and television projects from development to delivery and serves as a consultant for filmmakers as they launch their own films. Nicole has produced and programmed film festivals and conferences and screenwriting competitions nationally. She is a frequent speaker on festival and industry panels, focusing on supporting independent voices and creating sustainable careers for artists.
